Feburary Update

WOW, is all I can say about February! This month was jam packed with so many things for me to do and to celebrate.

Wedding planning is going well. I'm happy to announce that we are almost done with planning. If you asked me a couple of months ago if I saw the light at the end of the tunnel I would have laughed in your face. Now, with all the big decisions made everything else is a breeze. I have been blessed with this wedding and I'm not taking for granted each of the people who are involved and being supportive. It is so important to have good support during a wedding.

Valentines this year was the most romantic Valentines ever. I cannot express how much I felt so loved and appreciated by Joel. He went above and beyond this year. The best part of it all was it was done from his heart. When I came home from a hard days work, I was surprised with a paper trail map to the bathroom where Joel was standing. The bathroom was decorated with candles. There was chocolate, wine and romantic music playing. He had drawn me a bubble bath all to myself while he prepared a scrumptious dinner of steak, veggies, and his famous mashed potatoes. He even cut some branches from my very favorite cherry blossom trees which were the icing on the cake. I absolutely will never forget this years valentines day.

Joel and I celebrated our 11 year anniversary on the 23rd. I surprised him with breakfast in bed which included his favorite doughnuts and other favorite breakfast foods. I also surprised him by purchasing him a Ruger 1022 rifle. It was what he has wanted for a while; he should be getting it the first week of March.

Joel and I got to go backpacking in Henry Coe. We went around the same time last year. I'm happy to say since working out, it was such an improvement from last year. I am not completely in shape (yet), but I'm able to go uphill without quitting. Unfortunately, it was a freezing night and we were not prepared to be so freezing. But the 6 mile hike was bearable so that made my trip worthwhile. We also got to bask in the sun while taking in different views of the park. Joel is in love with Henry Coe. I'm sure we will eventually hike each of the trail and ridges.

I also took a week off from work to dog sit in Santa Cruz. It was supposed to snow that week, but lucky for us it did not. Driving on Highway 17 while slippery is a death trap. Joel and I got to take Katie to various dog parks and walks on the occasional sunny day that week.

I was lucky enough to enjoy some weekends with my 3 nieces. They spent a night this last weekend. Joel taught the littlest one how to make French toast. It was very sweet to listen and watch. They are my little sweethearts.

That is a very quick February update from me. March is just around the corner with not so much to do, thankfully.
