On Friday the 14th, Joel, Caleb, Amber, and I went out for dinner at a Chinese Restaurant in Mountain View. We headed to Molly Maggee's(bar) to play a game of pool and grab 2 rounds of beer. We played boys vs. girls, I think the boys won by default, but Amber did a good job on her own.
Caleb got an invite from Matthew Morales to go and hear some local bands play. We went to a gymnastics/martial art building where the bands were to play.
The keg ran out when we got there and we wanted to grab some more beer, but ended up heading out early and Caleb, Joel, and I went to the Brit in downtown San Jose.
It wasn't as crowded as we thought it would be, so we got a round of beers, and went to Jack in the Box by Great America. We ate and listened to music in the car, just like we use do in the olden days. We use to just sit in my Buick and listen to music until the wee hours of the morning and just talk and chill. It brought back good times and we ended up having the urge just to drive to Santa Cruz and stay the night.
We drove to Santa Cruz, stayed in a hotel. We got there at 2am-ish, we crashed, but I couldn't go to sleep. There was a crying kid next door that would not stop, it was so disturbing. I ended up getting up early and go to the beach and watch it come up on the shore. I tried to take pictures, but it was sprinkling and I didn't want my new camera to get ruined.
When the boys got up we went to a donut shop and had breakfast. We went to downtown and walked around and met up with Amber at a non-existent Harley Davidson museum.
We wound up on the beach and played around in the water.
Jared joined us and we had got some pizza and drinks and had a beach bonfire. Nothing like completing a gorgeous weekend with a nice burning fire. I loved every minute of this weekend. I felt like I was going back into time with not a worry in mind, just getting wood for the fire to burn.
I can't wait to have more memories like this in the summer to come.
I love beach times!
