Joel and I went camping at Pi-Pi campgrounds in Eldorado National Forest. It was the first time we went camping alone and I must say it was nice. It was also a first for us to sleep with airbeds underneath out sleeping bags-that was nice! It was the best sleep we ever had camping.

Day 1 (August 14th)
Drive was good, only I didn't get the exact address of our campsite. We went through most of Eldorado almost hitting South Lake Tahoe and back again to our destination (Signage was terrible throughout the forest only via #'s and such). I also made the mistake of pitching our tent at the wrong site # so we had to carry our tent to a different site, next to our neighbor's right. I'm glad we switched our site cuz the first site we were swarmed with bees and Mosquitoes. We set up the site and Joel made us steaks. We forgot to bring charcoal and so we ha to pan fry them (via Joel's pocket rocket) and then throw them on to the fire pit grit. They ended up very tasty and perfectly cooked. We sat by the fire afterward and had some smores. Joel did an excellent job with building the fire. He tried to make a fire bundle(like Survivorman) but ended up just lighting the moss he found with a lighter. We went to bed around 1030p and found using airbeds is the correct way to camp. By far it was the best sleep we've had camping.
Day 2 (August 15th)
We started the day by eating pop tarts for breakfast. We didn't pack too much perishable items so that way we wouldn't have to keep them cold with ice. Afterwards, Joel and I walked a long a path the river where we found a gorgeous spot on some rocks so we stopped and stayed for a couple of hours. Joel went back for his pocket rocket fuel stove and canned soup so that we can have our lunch a top these rocks right by the rushing river. The sun was out and the bugs were few, my kind of romantic lunch. We hiked back to our spot and gathered up some wood for our nights fire. We played a round of Jenga and yours truly won. We had carne asada and baked beans for dinner following up with some smores. I think we had too much fun playing with the fire because we stayed up until the last piece of wood turned into an ashy ember. We played around with my cameras setting and captured the burning tips of our sticks. Before I went to bed I surveyed how many bugs have taken a liking to my sweet blood, so far the count is 7 and I feel some weird pain in my right eye it's not an itchy pain more like a ouch-y pain outside my right lid. We shall see in the morning how I feel.
Day 3 (August 16th)
I woke up really early today. Unfortunately I woke up to having one of my lids barely opening on my right eye. I woke Joel and asked him if anything looked bad in my eye. I knew last night I felt something wrong with my eye-my suspicions were correct! A bite or something caused my eye to puff really big. I also got additional bug bites on my feet and arms. Bugs are so attracted to me. I took a some Benedryl and went back to bed and slept until 10a. I was really drowsy from the medicine. We ended up packing up our stuff and headed home. We stopped by Sonics to get some grub in Tracy and headed home.

Total # of bug bites: 12
