Friday,I got off early from work and headed down to Santa Cruz to meet up with Katie and Joel. Joel had taken his Sheriffs test at 1:30pm and is highly confident he passed. (Oakland Police Department had the exact same test which had taken a couple of weeks prior.)
Joel and I went to Downtown to see what flix we were able to catch. We ended up watching Grand Toreno with Clint Eastwood. Boy Howdy, I wasn't expecting such a good performance from Clint or other characters in movie. The movie was OUTSTANDING! You have to go and watch it for yourself.
Saturday,I went to San Francisco, with Joel's mom and brother Jorel. We went for Joel's Aunt's baby's 1st birthday party. It was a Chinese traditional Red Egg and Ginger party in China Town. Great food (lots of it), different atmosphere, and good to see Joel's Uncles, Frank and Phil.
Sunday,Joel and I chilled in Santa Cruz for a bit and I did some homework for my online class. Caleb got a new iphone 3g and sold Joel his old one, which excited Joel very much. We went back to San Jose so he could activate it. We ended up watching Defiance, with Caleb and Julia, at the Eastridge Mall. It was a great movie about Jews. The outcome was me wanting to become a blond haired, blue-eyed women of Jewish decent (who knew). I, the whole evening, was made fun of because of not being an iphone owner, it was inevitable.
Monday (MLK DAY),my day off, went back to Santa Cruz to see Katie. Julia tagged along with me, which I was very grateful for the companionship(no offense to Katie). We took Katie on a nice long walk down a very farm-like road. Afterwards, Julia and I drove to downtown to grab a bite to eat and gab about girl stuff. We went home and took Katie to an Aptos dog park and ended up playing in a stream with some other dogs, which Katie enjoyed very much.
We took Katie home and departed for our journey back to San Jose. I took Julia to an old recycle book store. I bought Count of Monte Cristo and Julia bought some Russian author, which I will not try to spell. Soon after, I took Julia to Peggy Sues where we both enjoyed a chocolate shake. Coming back to my humble abode, we ended up going, with the boys, to Best Buy to see if we could find a case for Joel's iphone. Unsuccessful, we ended up eating at Red Robin with Jared.
And that my friends was the best MLK weekend ever.
