Today was my ceremony for my 5 year service award at Superior Court. I cannot believe this marks my fifth year working here. I lied, I'm not surprised because at all my jobs I am loyal and stay for a long time. This job is different. I like what I do (sometimes) and they are really good to me, in terms of benefits and co-workers.
My job is a challenge to my mental health and well being, but I am really good now about not taking it personal and moving on. Customers can be a real drag to the point of flipping them off and closing my door or window on them (which I don't plan on doing...EVER...close...but never.), but there are the good ones. There is always that customer who truly appreciates the time and effort I put into their paperwork to try to help them with their situation. That is the customer that I stay for. Situations here are definitely not rosey or sane (trust me I have had my share of crazies), but who else will help these angry people? I will!
My main goal is to become an attorney or some type of management in the court system. Its not easy moving up, but I figure if I put in my time and effort I can make it happen. I love my job and though I complain, I am thankful I have one.
Whoop..here's to 5 years and more to come! =)
