February 21, 2010 part II

OK, so read part I of what happened on Sunday. I basically came home from hiking and was really sore to the point where my legs kept buckling underneath me. I went straight home changed ate some Jack-in-the-Box Joel bought for us. After eating before napping, I noticed something in the middle of my chest, below my collar bone...Joel told me it was a huge tick!!! It was pretty noticeable, huge bloody. I never had a tick before. Joel tweezed it out of me and froze it just in case I get Lyme disease or something. I now have a huge circle of purpleness, like someone shot me with a bee-bee gun in the middle of my chest. I gotta get it checked out to make sure I don't have any deathly disease.

After my nap, I took a shower...a nice long hot one to sooth my aching body. When I got out of the shower, a towel in my hair and wrapped around my body, I exited the restroom, well about to, and in the corner of my eye Joel was waiting on his bended knee with something behind his back. I gasped because (1) he scared me and (2) he was on one knee (not the normal scaring position).

He told me that he had so many different ideas on how he would do this, but they ended up failing because of the weather circumstances. He took the box out from behind him and he asked me and of course and with tears and shaking hands I said "YES!!!". And oh what site that ring was to my eyes.

....fast forward about 2 hours or so....lets say 7:25pm.

Joel and I were on our way to La Victoria's to meet Rich up. We were almost there, only a u-turn away and right when Joel was half way around the median...a 2007 Ford Fusion, with a driver named Donna, ran a red light and hit the passenger side of my car. Joel and I were absolutely tussled in the car. We pulled over into the parking lot (Almaden Expressway where Britannia Arms, La Victoria and A best buy - To name a few stores - that surrounded us). My engine sounded horrible and Joel had to coast my car in to a spot because he couldn't turn the wheel. I got out and my poor baby (car) was ripped to shreds in the front right bumper side. I mean ripped, it was awful site!!! She hit us while we were making a u-turn and she was coming from a Safeway parking lot from the right side (not straight on) she clipped us into the median. My driver door won't open without making a hard push and a DING noise. My engine is shot or at least almost shot.

*sigh* Donna, a deer in the headlights by now, was terrified because she was driving her company issued vehicle. I ended up talking to my insurance company for 30 minutes, Donna's company was closed, we exchanged information, she called the cops (non-emergency) who didn't take down a report because cops really don't like wasting their time on accidents with no property damage. Donna's husband ended up using his AAA to tow my car to Rich's home. And mind you I am now soaking wet, AGAIN, because of the rain.

Rich ended up driving us back to La Vic's to eat and drove us both home.

And that is how the night of my engagement ended. A night to remember.
