On my return trip home from Benicia, I picked up Joel a nice card, candy, and 2 gun magazines. I'm not that big of a fan of Valentines day or other Hallmark holidays, but I didn't want him to think I forgot about him since I had been gone since Friday. I also got to give him the many comic books I bought him from the library sale in Benicia.
We chilled for most of the day. We had to go meet my mom and her boyfriend Mitch for a dinner. We invited Rich to come along so we picked him up along the way. She surprised us and had dinner ready and waiting at her house. She made home made refried beans, fajitas, and Mexican rice. It was delicious.
Joel, Rich, Mom, Mitch, and Melissa (Mitch's Mom) had a great time together. I was nervous about Rich meeting my mom and integrating with that side of the family, but my fears turned out to be a blessing. Everyone mingled and the boys even made fun of Mitch's Mom which I will not repeat.
Overall, my Valentines 2010 was a hoot.
