Joel Passed!

We just got good word, by mail, that Joel passed his test for Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department. Yay! He applied a month ago and took his entry test 3 weeks ago. He will be taking his physical test on February 21st. He will being doing a timed run, drag a 165lbs dummy, and go over a 6 ft wall. He is really confident he will pass this with no problem. I will be timing him this Saturday for a practice run.

A couple months ago, Joel applied for the Oakland Police Department and passed also with really high scores. Unfortunately, the oral board part had to be put on hold due to a hiring freeze Oakland is having. He was looking forward to working with them, but at least his scores will be good for a year. He really wants to work for Oakland Fire, just like his Godfather. His Godfather Chin was the first Chinese American to work for the Oakland Fire Department. Joel wants to keep that legacy going, he has much love and respect for his Godfather. (Godfather Chin, passed away with cancer a couple of years ago.)

Joel is currently working for Wolf Electric in Santa Clara, CA. At this time, Wolf, doesn't have any big jobs lined up so Joel hasn't been working for the last week and a half. I know Wolf will soon find work and it wont be too long until Joel is back at work. 

I am not too worried about it. I am keeping an optimistic outlook on our present situation. I am leaving it in God's hands, I know He will see us through it.
