My Best Friend is getting married...

My best friend, Caleb, just got engaged last Sunday in Arkansas. I am so stoked for him and his now fiance, Julia. Their date is set for November 7, 2009, in Arkansas. I haven't been formally invited yet, but I at least know Joel is going to be his best man (though that hasn't been officially announced).

Caleb has been my friend since he started coming to the same church and school as me. His family consists of an awesome group of people. I miss having them around, close enough to go and chat with his folks and siblings. They were so kind to let me come visit them in Arkansas a couple of summers ago. I was lucky because they had just built their house and they just had moved in.

Joel, Caleb and I have had a strong friendship over these long years. We have been through some rough and crazy times, needless to say, we have survived and are still growing up together (and having a blast doing it). I remember when he first moved away, first to Florida and I was not informed he was moving there until a couple of months afterwards. That was a sad time for all of us. We have had some fun adventures since then. We started a tradition of having yearly vacation trips. Even when Caleb wasn't in California, we flew him out with us so he could enjoy making memories on our adventures. We have been to San Clemente, Vegas (for all 3 of our 21'st b-days), Six Flags Magic Mountain, Clear Lake and just exploring the bay like San Francisco. Now that he made his way back to California, it was as though he never left in the first place. Now that soon there will be an addition to our circle, we can keep up with our tradition of vacations so we can have more fun memories in the future.

I am so stoked Caleb has finally found his special someone. Julia seems to be a really nice person and hopefully we can create a special bond with each other when she moves out here to sunny ol' California. At first, it might be needing some re-adjusting because it has been us three for the longest time, but I'm sure it will be awesome. I am excited because I won't be the only girl anymore in the group. It usually takes me a long time to befriend someone because I don't just give out the title to anyone, but since Caleb loves her I will have to do the same.

My best friend is getting married. This will be one more thing we get to go through together, and I wouldn't miss it for the world.

(Below are some pictures we took while on our yearly vacations.)
