I got to dog sit for Sasha this last weekend in Santa Cruz, surprisingly the weather was horrible there. Regardless of the weather, there was a ton of beach traffic coming into Santa Cruz which meant crowds at the beach and surrounding areas. With this knowledge, Joel and I decided to go back to San Jose to spend our 4th of July celebrations. As posted earlier, we went and checked out two different wedding locations which was fun.
We got to have dinner with my mom and her boyfriend's family. The food was of course yummy, BBQ chicken, corn on the cobb, and my mom's always perfect guacamole. Afterwards, Joel and I picked up Sarah and Josh and drove to Alviso for a spectacular firework show. Alviso has warring houses that put on a show, where people like us have first chair views of the ever booming and bright fireworks. The Alviso show has happened for many years now and the police and firefighters are OK with it, but we basically have to make sure we watch out for any stray fireworks.
We are lucky that our friends live right across the street from where all the action happens. Angel and Joe are always willing to have us over in order to get front seats to the event, which we are very thankful for.
