Joel and I got to visit two venue locations this weekend in Felton, CA. The venues we visited were Felton Guild and Highlands Park which were both fabulous.
The first venue we visited was Felton Guild, this location was the first place I found online in my search for locations. Joel and I really like this location because of the surrounding redwoods and the freedom that the owners give you. They are not hounding sales people, which we both would prefer working with and it is fairly priced. The only downsides are Joel doesn't like the chairs they have so we will have to rent them and we will have to rent a dance floor.
The second location, Higlands Park, is a Santa Cruz county park and is half the price than Felton Guild. Like Felton Guild, tables and chairs are included, the difference is that there is an old victorian house that is at our disposal. The house is big and includes a kitchen and several rooms which will be helpful for getting ready and the dance floor. Joel likes the chairs so I won't have to rent any different ones.
Joel is excited becuase we are now really starting to plan. I need to find a couple of more venues so Joel and I can have different options. I will try to look in our local area, but so far they have been in Santa Cruz.
